Verifiable by Design

How ChronoSeal builds and preserves trustworthy time records

ChronoSeal is not just time tracking software. It is a verifiable record system — designed to produce tamper-evident, independently provable records of employee working time.

Every shift is recorded, sealed, and independently verifiable — with optional legally recognised timestamping under EU regulation.

The Problem

Why most time records fail under scrutiny

Most time tracking systems rely on editable databases, internal logs, and trust in the provider. Records can be changed, deleted, or rewritten. When challenged, they rely on: "This is what our system says happened."

That is not proof.

The ChronoSeal Approach

A different foundation

Every event in ChronoSeal is written once, cryptographically linked to the event before it, and never modified. The result: no silent edits, no hidden changes, no overwritten records — only a complete, visible history of what actually happened.

Independent Verification

Records that prove themselves

Every sealed day produces a cryptographic reference that represents the full state of that record. This allows any record to be verified publicly, verified offline, and verified independently of ChronoSeal.

Key principle The system does not need to be trusted — the data proves itself. Even if ChronoSeal disappears, the employer no longer exists, or access to the system is lost, records remain verifiable indefinitely.

Timestamping

Independent time proof — a digital notary

ChronoSeal records are not only internally verifiable — they are anchored to independent time authorities. Think of this as a digital notary stamping each sealed record at the moment it is created.

Standard Plan

Each sealed record is timestamped using independent, third-party timestamp providers (RFC 3161). This acts as an external attestation that the record existed at a specific moment in time and has not been altered since. In effect, each sealed day carries a notary-style timestamp, issued independently of ChronoSeal.

Pro Plan — eIDAS Qualified Timestamping

ChronoSeal Pro supports eIDAS-qualified timestamps, issued by trusted providers recognised under EU regulation. These timestamps function as a legally recognised digital notary under EU law, carry a presumption of integrity and time accuracy, and significantly strengthen evidentiary weight in inspections and disputes.

Why this matters A record is no longer just internally consistent. It is cryptographically linked, independently verifiable, and externally notarised in time. This combination transforms a time record into defensible evidence.

Labour Compliance

Designed for labour compliance

ChronoSeal is designed to support compliance with labour regulations, including Spanish working time recording requirements and minimum retention periods. Records are complete, chronological, tamper-evident, and independently verifiable — by design, not by policy.

Audit Trail

Full audit trail — always

ChronoSeal uses an append-only ledger. Events are never deleted. Records are never overwritten. Corrections are recorded as new entries. The result: a complete, permanent audit trail showing the original event, the correction, and the final state — all visible, all provable.

Employee Transparency

Employees are part of the system

Employees are not excluded from ChronoSeal — they are part of it. Each employee can access their own records, view full event history, see sealed days, export their data, and verify records independently.

This builds trust, reduces disputes, and removes ambiguity. Everyone sees the same record.

Public Verification

Verify without exposing personal data

ChronoSeal allows verification via a simple cryptographic reference — no login required, no personal data exposed, no internal access needed. The reference acts as an access key. This allows auditors, inspectors, and legal representatives to verify records independently, without accessing your system.

Data Protection

Data protection by design

ChronoSeal is built with GDPR principles at its core: data minimisation, role-based access control, no unnecessary data exposure, and EU-based data hosting. Data is processed within the European Union. Sensitive data (e.g. PINs) is securely hashed. Public verification does not expose identity data. ChronoSeal acts as a data processor — you remain in control of your data.

Infrastructure

Secure, resilient infrastructure

ChronoSeal implements encryption in transit (TLS), role-based permissions, rate limiting and lockouts, and continuous audit logging. Service interruptions do not affect recorded data, sealed records, or the ability to verify records. The integrity of your data does not depend on uptime.

Data Ownership

You own your data

You retain full ownership of employee data, recorded time events, and exported records. ChronoSeal does not sell your data, does not use your data for advertising, and processes data only to provide the Service.

In summary

Time records you can prove — not just store

ChronoSeal provides tamper-evident records, independent verification, external notarised time proof, full audit trails, employee transparency, and EU-compliant data handling.

When questioned, you don't say: "This is what our system shows."
You say: "This is provably what happened."
